That insatiablehunger for knowledge

The contemplation of principles, silent embrace with truth and beauty.

Hills of Baganza Valley - Nortern Italy

I realize that the more you seek to know, the more you understand the depths of your own ignorance! It's like trying to reach the horizon: the more you chase it, the further it recedes.

I may never be able to climb Everest, but even just climbing the hill behind my house changes the landscape significantly, and this new perspective is already a great achievement.

I think there will come a time when we will have to surrender, we will have to surrender to the fact that knowledge is not quantitative and mental, but intuitive and emotional.

Then I will look with nostalgia at all the books piled up on the shelves and the dust that covers them. Then we will need more photographs, more landscapes, more compassionate gazes!

One day we will understand that all the answers we seek are already within us, buried in an ancient memory, and the world we see is merely a mirror in which we can reflect ourselves to remember, to delve into our memories... this will be the discovery, this will be knowledge. We already knew everything, we had just forgotten.

A mirror, we only need a mirror.

Sometimes all it takes is a pretext to spur us on, to dig, to search, to track down that buried treasure, that gold, that philosopher's stone, that Holy Grail... all it takes is a pretext, like a passion for photography, or a visceral attraction to wild nature.
