An elegant 625-017 locomotive puffs along the Oglio River just outside Palazzolo, coming from Paratico, on the enchanting Lake Iseo. The autumn colors of Franciacorta and the last rays of the day's sun paint a truly evocative and timeless picture.

This is truly a place dear to my heart, one I've frequented for years, following in tradition the historic trains that occasionally appear along this impeccably restored ancient railway line. Like mirages you can barely believe, these thunderous machines suddenly appear from behind the trees, briefly breaking the silence of nature in these corners of the Italian landscape where time seems to have stopped, as if by magic. Then suddenly, silence returns, the rustle of the wind, the chirping of birds... until the next ride.
